    I never will understand why somebody would set the post right into the ground, where it will start to rot. Especially if you have a building which you want last long. I would either make a concrete foundation which is going a couple inches above the ground or at last put post ankers into the concrete and set the post on that.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure

      Fast2K protects the post. This will be here long after you and I are gone.

      @@TonysTractorAdventure Water will get to it since it is in the ground, the "foam crap concrete" is like a bucket around it and keeps it wet... yes it will last years but it will rot. The only way to set the post into concrete directly is inside a building, where you sure it does not get in contact with water. Anyway it is not a good position if you need to fix, move or change something on the construction. Either you cut the post off or you have to dig the whole crap out. All in all never a good idea to set wood into the ground. Make right at the first time then you don't need to fix it. If you do it cheap you do it twice.

    Hey Tony, If you didn't have a mulcher how would you clear out a bunch of roots? We had our tree farm thinned last year and had an area cleared to put our sawmill. I have some huge stumps that I'm taking care of with my stump grinder. We want to remove the top foot of dirt and laydown crushed cement then gravel, however all the roots are difficult to deal with. I have a T494 with a root grapple and I'm making slow progress by skimming the tines in about 6 inches and when I hit roots try to pop them up. It feels sketchy though. I tried to use by boxblade, with the scarifies down. The 494 is pretty strong and the roots are as well so my boxblade actually popped up and over in a way that I thought I had broken my 3 point hitch. nothing broke, but that sure was scary. Should I rent a skid steer or hire someone with one to save my tractor loader?

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure 2 дні тому

      I would recommend either going very slow or hiring somebody out. At the end of the day tractors are are not construction equipment. If we use them like construction equipment then we have to go extremely slow as to not damage our equipment. If you notice in my videos I never get in a rush. Slow and steady.

    • @robs8882
      @robs8882 2 дні тому

      @@TonysTractorAdventure thanks for answering Tony. I use low gear and go pretty slow. My front wheels go up when I reach a root, no impact at all. I back up and raise the loader a bit and try again. I try to not use an end of the rake, but closer to the middle when I find a root.

    I'm dubious about using DEF (NPK 46-0-0) as a N source for food for human consumption. DEF consists of approximately 30% Urea and 70% DI water. However, as there are no standards set by the FDA, and DEF has not been certified for use in the food chain, there's opportunity for manufactures to have other chemicals introduced into DEF during the Urea synthesizing process. The Urea created in a chemical synthesizing process is not the same as Urea from mammals. The use of DEF on a lawn is different than as a N source for food that one is going to eat. Once some chemicals are introduced into the soil they will remain, and leech into anything grown in that contaminated area. Please use caution. I do enjoy your videos Tony and Tonya! They helped me decide on which tractor to purchase.

      I appreciate your astuteness, but farmers have been using urea for years. DEF is urea and ultra clean water.. Because of the type of system used in diesel automobiles, it has to be refined to extreme purity. It has to be the exact mixture ratio to meet the EPA standards. As with everything, I recommend you do what you feel comfortable with. 👍

      @@TonysTractorAdventure I appreciate your potentially life altering experimentation as the EPA does regulate or monitor what is fit for human consumption. That would be the FDA. Unless it's drinking water but that's been a miserable failure. However you should have some pretty plants regardless.

    I really like your Atlas electric mower man and I think I kinda wanna get one myself since I already have 4 of the batteries with several of the other outdoor tools like the weed eaters, chainsaws, and pole saws but with a big giant humungous yard like that if you're gonna be using that little push mower you're literally gonna be spending your entire life just cutting the grass because you definitely need a really big riding mower to keep that grass down and not to be wearing out your body also.

    What was the ratio of DEF to Water used?

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure 4 дні тому

      It totally depends on your needs. DEF in a 2.5 gallon container is 32% urea and the rest is water. Calculate Total Nitrogen Required: You want the nitrogen content to be 18% of the total tank volume. Total Nitrogen Required=18%×40 gallons=0.18×40=7.2 gallons of nitrogenTotal Nitrogen Required=18%×40 gallons=0.18×40=7.2 gallons of nitrogen Determine Number of Containers Needed: Each container holds 0.8 gallons of nitrogen. Number of Containers=Total Nitrogen RequiredNitrogen per Container=7.2 gallons0.8 gallons/container=9 containersNumber of Containers=Nitrogen per ContainerTotal Nitrogen Required=0.8 gallons/container7.2 gallons=9 containers So, you will need 9 containers of the liquid nitrogen to achieve an 18% nitrogen concentration in your 40-gallon tank.

      There's a lot more to it. You have to know how much your sprayer will spray. That way you can calculate how fast you go. Each tractor sprayer will come with a chart telling you how much product you're putting out based upon the speed. You can adjust that also through adjusting the pressure on the unit.
